
The natural processes that create large diamonds do not often occur, therefore larger diamonds are of greater value than smaller ones. Size, however, is only one of many factors that determine the value of a stone.
Each of the Four C's is an aspect of an individual stone that can have an effect on that stone's value. Balancing the various qualities of diamonds, and selecting diamonds to serve certain requirements, can be a challenge for anyone not well versed in these characteristics of individual stones.
